Dear Mr. Henle:

While taking my daily 5:30 walk this morning, I listened to the talk show "Observations" with you and Dr. Linda Brown. First, I would like to thank you for sharing your life history about your epilepsy. Your struggle was especially poignant since I have a nephew, Trey, who suffers the same seizures as you did - both petit mal and gran mal. Needless to say, our entire family grieves greatly when these episodes occur. Just recently, he suffered a gran mal seizure while away at college. When he fell, he hit his head and required 6 stitches on his face.

Our hearts are crying to see him go through this. Like you said, the entire family lives in "constant fear" of another seizure - like they have a "cloud over their heads, never knowing when
the next storm would hit." Luckily for us, he seems to maintain a positive attitude
about his condition, in spite of all the medications he has to take. My brother and sister-in-law have taken him to many specialists - the latest specialist has given him completely new meds. He takes about 9 Rx's daily, Lamectil among others. Unlike yours, we do not know the cause of Trey's epilepsy; however, I have often wondered if this chronic disorder is also exacerbated by all the medications. Are your misdiagnoses and maltreatments documented in your book? How long did it take you to detoxify from all the medications?

My brother spends much of his sparse spare time outside of work seeking new information on epilepsy.
So, I was wondering whether Dr. Linda Brown might be helpful to us since she sounds very knowledgable and compassionate. Is she considered an "epileptologist"? Was she your doctor, and is she here in Las Vegas at UMC? She spoke about new EEG machines that help detect imminent seizures. Where could I obtain more information on her and this new procedure? What about the clinic you said your parents sent you to in Canada?

On the talkshow, you stated that you could feel an "aura" when you were about to have a seizure.
Could you please explain that further? Is it like a premonition? Or is it a physical feeling within?

Also, Mr. Henle, I just spoke to my Mother in Houston, and told her about your broadcast this morning. She would like to order two (2) audio copies of the program. Is this possible? If not, are there transcripts available?
I noticed that the headquarters for "Observations" is here in Las Vegas. I would be happy to purchase these directly from them and pick them up. Also, I would like to order your book for my Mother.
